Sex Education in Africa
Africa is widely known to have the highest rate of STD infected people around the world, whether it be the less serious infections to the most deadly. This is why sex education in Africa is more geared towards preventing the spread of these diseases through contraceptives like condoms rather than for family planning, unwanted pregnancies and simple awareness. There was a study made in Africa revealing that teenagers do not receive any sex education because it is not offered at their school.

It has also been learned that young Africans have heard of HIV but do not have correct information on preventing the spread or infection of the virus. They are also confused about what the real deal is about these diseases as some of them only know of the common myths they heard and having no scientific basis. In Africa, the World Health Organization and a number of international NGOs have established AIDS education programs to properly educate the people and completely eradicate the myths and false information about STD.
